I'm unloading my love like a bloated camel

i opted to forgo the fluer d' rag pattern to emphasize the clunky arrangements of the camels. i think the end result is much more dramatic and interesting.

camel fight

this is the new one that i am working on now. as i said earlier, it is moving away from the figure towards the larger shapes with block lettering. i'm liking how it is going and starting to imagine how pieces might look on a larger scale or with several hung as a multiple. the thing i wonder about there is presentation, frames get in the way of continuous panels. any way, the pattern in the background is called fluer de rag.

get a hold of yourself!

obviously this piece evolved a bit while i worked on it. I'm pretty happy with the way it has turned out though. I'm leaning towards using More ambiguous shapes with the block letter against patterns for a while. we'll see how that goes.

hello

chances are that if you are looking at this blog you've come to see a sneak peak of some of the prints I will be showing in my new show coming up on saturday the 28th at umber studios. the following are samples of the designs I have been working with for the show and not the finished works. I'll be doing around 10 -12 piece with editions of 12-20. I decided to do a show of silk screens in answer to those that wanted some work of mine but needed it to be smaller and less expensive than my usual work. the prints will be selling between $100 and $200 and will range in size from 16" x 16" to 24" x 24" for the largest pieces. I hope you can come to the show and please feel free to leave any comments about the work.
