So then I made these

The next step in getting ready for the show is to take elements from the drawings which will serve as anchors for the space and reproduce and manipulate the primary shapes and objects into patterns to be printed onto to fabrics, like these.

Number Two Of Four

This is the second of four new drawings, the first being the rooster, which will be part of a show I am doing with Amy Rice this coming september featuring a combination of drawings and sculptural elements in familiar environments so that you can have a chance to literally be in one of my portraits if you have the moxie to take it on. anyway this one is called, "Tragedy Is An Old Family Friend".

I'm unloading my love like a bloated camel

i opted to forgo the fluer d' rag pattern to emphasize the clunky arrangements of the camels. i think the end result is much more dramatic and interesting.

camel fight

this is the new one that i am working on now. as i said earlier, it is moving away from the figure towards the larger shapes with block lettering. i'm liking how it is going and starting to imagine how pieces might look on a larger scale or with several hung as a multiple. the thing i wonder about there is presentation, frames get in the way of continuous panels. any way, the pattern in the background is called fluer de rag.
